What is Zinn Boldly? Well, to be quite honest it is nothing more than a play on Martin Luther’s famous Sin Boldly quote. In all actuality this post has nothing to do with sin or even Luther. It is however all about a rad music site that has just unveiled a new look. Hey! Kind of like TEB… Yep, I must admit that boxyauto.com inspires me to do more than just turn up the volume. Boxy Auto is a long running, electronic music project by none other than Phil Zinn, hence the title. Zinn delivers track after track of melodic ice cream, dripping it on your lap in a plop-pounding delight. The new site features photography as well, tantalizing your retina with shades of gray which fit the mood that is Boxy Auto. As I’m pounding away at the keyboard, revising or simply letting the creative lamp burn, often times I click over to Boxy Auto and let the tunes soak up my midnight oil. You should too!

Rev. Beat, – Hemlock

I must apologize for the delay of this selection of Hemlock. Several computer problems prohibited my ability to record this reading. All appears to be fixed so away we go once again! In the novel Rev. Beat, is a letter addressed to a liberal pastor. It is a means of comparing and contrasting the protagonist with the methods of Emergent Church types, character construction if you will, not to mention a method in which to make a point. Here you have it in its original form.

Youth and Sin and Then We Begin – Hemlock

This is the third selection from Hemlock. Sin is something we prefer to sweep under a rug and try to forget about. That doesn’t solve our problem. On the other hand, confessing that we are wretched sinners in need of Christ’s death and resurrection results in absolution. Recognizing the problem of sin and the only means of dealing with our fallen state allows us to find hope in the Gospel. My tone in Hemlock is blunt and hard, even to the point of abrasion. It is out of love for my neighbor that I am purposefully painting coarse word pictures. I pray that these words are read (or in this case heard) in such a way that the truth will resonate and defenses shatter.
